Before I start, I’ve never tried Banh Mi before this trip to Vietnam, so this is coming from someone trying it for the very first time.
The first Banh Mi I tried was from Ba Huynh (Madam Win). My friend ordered one for us to split during our coffee activity!
Loved the pâté they made! I’m a big fan of bread, so I was really happy that the baguette tasted so good. It’s honestly so hard to find a good baguette in Manila.

The second Banh Mi I tried was from Ba Huynh’s sister competitor, Huynh Ho, which was also recommended to us by the locals.
We got takeout through Grab again because we needed to have lunch at the hotel, and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to try a different Banh Mi. The baguette was still good even after being delivered.

After trying both, I personally prefer the Banh Mi from Bánh Mì Bà Huynh (Madam Win). I really liked the pâté, and the meat was just right for me.
With Huynh Hoa, I felt like I wasn’t really enjoying the Banh Mi with every bite. I ended up taking out most of the fillings and just eating the baguette.
I get the hype around Banh Mi, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be my go-to meal when I’m in Vietnam. I’d definitely buy the baguette on its own though, if they sell it separately.
