Busanjip Hongdae (철길부산집 홍대직영점) (How to go, what to expect) – Odeng restaurant

I’ve been a fan of Dex for a while now, probably since last year. Well, I’ve been a fan, but not this much.

In one of his Off Dex episodes, he and Pani Bottle went to this odeng restaurant. I’m a huge fan of Adventure by Accident, and I binge-watched all the seasons, laughed, and cried.

I added this place to my list because some Naver blogs said that in episode 9 they went to the Hongdae branch, but I’m not sure if that’s true.

It was cold that day, and we were supposed to go to a different restaurant, but my mom and I were talking and decided it was a perfect day for hot soup.

We walked to Busanjip Hongdae from Pain Perdu , but if you’ll be coming here via subway, the closest way to get here is via exit 9 of Hongik Univ. Station (line 2, Airport Railroad line, or Gyeongjui-Jungang line).

As we were walking near the restaurant, I noticed that it was close to 943 King’s Cross, 노루목황소곱창, and right across from Doma Hongdae.

This is what the place looks like on the outside.

The place was full, and there were only a few seats left that weren’t at the bar counter. I had a hard time taking a photo of what the inside looked like, since almost everyone was looking at us when we went in.

Menu ~

We got the Eomuk 2 portions as well as aged salmon sashimi.

odeng soup!
wooden ladle to get the soup!

They served the aged salmon sashimi first, followed by two portions of eomuk. Most odeng was cooked, except two sticks, which they asked us to place in soup for minutes before eating briefly.

You can enjoy odeng and odeng soup as street food, but it’s nice to sit down and enjoy it slowly. It paired well with the aged salmon sashimi!

If you’re coming to Seoul, and it’s a bit cold, and you’re craving something warm to drink, definitely look for Busanjip (철길부산집) or come to their Hongdae branch.

Having a warm bowl of soup in negative degree weather just hits differently. It’s comforting, cozy, and exactly what you need to warm up from the inside out.
