Pain Perdu (팽페르뒤 연남) (How to go, what to expect)

I was supposed to go here before doing some work and running errands at AK Plaza, but I was a bit behind schedule, so we went here after AK Plaza instead.

If you’re going directly to Pain Perdu, you should get down at Hongik Univ. Station (line 2, Airport Railroad line, or Gyeongjui-Jungang line) and get out of exit 3

The building where Pain Perdu is located looks like this. There is a sign, but it took me a while to find it. The map said I was already there, but I still couldn’t see it. Apparently, it’s on the second floor.

there’s a sign that says Pain Perdu

they’re famous for their Creme Anglaise French Toast, but we didn’t order it since we were going to have dinner right after this cafe

we arrived late, almost dinner time, and the place was fully packed

This was the only area available for two people, so we had to share the table with other couples, but we didn’t mind!

Menu ~

I decided to order the Churros French Toast since I’m a churros girl, along with an iced americano for myself and a hot americano for my mom.

where they make the french toast 😋

you order and pay at the counter!

ice cream was so good😍

If you’re shopping in Hongdae and happen to be near Pain Perdu, I definitely recommend this place if you want to take a break. The cafe is quiet and the French toast is good. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend it is if you have luggage or a stroller, since it can be difficult to go up to the second floor.
