Sapporo Autumn Fest (near Odori Park) (How to go, what to expect)

The Sapporo Autumn Fest is an annual event that usually takes place between September and October. I was able to visit the festival the first time I went to Sapporo, and luckily, I got to see it again this year.

It’s like a smaller version of a food market, offering a variety of dishes from different cuisines along with a range of drinks.

We came here for a light snack before dinner, as the area closes around 8:30 PM.

After seeing the total cost of the food, I personally don’t think it’s worth visiting if you’re planning to eat, unless you want to experience the event. You can still visit to see what they offer!

the festival is actually big and we only went to the one being held at 4-chome

How to go here (4-chome) area :

1. Get down at Odori Park

2. Get out of exit 5, it’s the closest one!

the stalls are arranged like this, and the ones with numbers are where you can buy food and drinks.

last call is 8 PM

My dad and brother were in charge of getting the food and drinks, while my mom and I stayed behind to watch over our spot and the things we brought.

We got a variety of food! It wasn’t very filling, but it was enough to keep us from getting hungry as we explored the city at night.

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

I think it’s a good idea to visit this place during the day too, so you can see more of the festival and the stalls.

If you happen to be in Sapporo while the festival’s happening, I’d say it’s worth checking out. Even just walking around to take a look would be good.

You can try the food and drinks if you’re curious, but they’re usually more expensive than meals at regular restaurants.
