Singapore: Where to stay (Ibis budget Singapore Selegie)

Ibis Budget Hotel is a bit famous for its affordable rooms whenever you stay in Singapore (or other parts of Asia).

There are a lot of Ibis Hotels around Singapore but I decided to book at Selegie because there’s a 7/11 beside the hotel as well as a bus stop (which I thought will be useful for us when we commute but to tell you the truth, it didn’t help us since we mostly booked Grab cars since the weather was too hot 😭)

I booked our hotel through Agoda, as usual!

We arrived a bit late already in Singapore like around 11 PM so I didn’t try to find a bus or the train anymore and just went to fall in line to take a cab.

I initially got a bit worried about what if the cab doesn’t accept credit cards since I only exchanged a few SGD pre-flying to Singapore but luckily I could use my credit card to pay!

We just had to show our Agoda confirmed booking and our passports. They quickly gave us our room! Everything was done in less than 5 min!

What our room looked like :

not gonna lie but I did not remember Ibis Hotel rooms to be THIS crazy small
you’ll see this on your left as soon as you enter the room

I had a hard time working using my laptop on their table every night
the bathroom was okay but you will see that the corners were VERY very dirty like everything was clean but you can’t just simple ignore that the bathroom was already old

shower was directly facing the toilet so you have to hold the shower head

I won’t hide my disappointment, I actually decided to pay higher since I was expecting THIS bathroom 😔

The only good thing about this place was that there’s a 7/11 literally beside the hotel.

How to go to the closest station (I think it was a good 10 min walk):

so as soon as you get out you will turn to your left – the one with 7/11 side
and you’ll just keep on walking straight

yes, keep on walking straight

keep on walking straight
until you see the sign Serangoon RD
you will turn left
and you’ll keep on walking under this area
don’t worry just keep walking
you’ll end up at exit C of Little India station!

all photos were taken using an iPhone

Will I recommend this place? If you’re trying to fit a certain budget for your trip, maybe?

Book this place only if you are trying to fit everything under a budget but if you have enough allowance to spend a little more for lodging then I think it would probably be better if you’ll try and book somewhere else!
