Shanghai Disneyland (上海迪士尼乐园) (What to expect) – updated post!

The last time I went to Shanghai Disneyland was in 2019. Inititally, I had no plans to go back on this trip, even though I wanted to see Zootopia, but those plans changed when my brother joined us! We decided to take him to Shanghai Disneyland and let him experience it for the first time.

Booked my tickets with Klook! Click me

The ticket that I got was “1-day ticket + CNY 119 meal coupon”

This was the only time we rode the metro during the trip, and it was so convenient for getting to Disneyland!

the train ride was just an hour away

Some memories came rushing back as soon as we arrived at the station, but I was shocked by the changes they made to the entrance. They made us walk quite a lot and go around several areas before we were finally able to enter the park. I wasn’t too happy about that.

After following the crowd and walking for what felt like an endless 20 minutes, we were finally at the gate!

We headed to the shop first since my brother needed to buy gifts for a few people, and it would have been too late to do it afterwards because of the time difference.

While he was browsing for gifts, I spent my time trying on some Judy hats! I was originally supposed to wear a Judy-inspired outfit, but those plans got canceled at the last minute. Maybe next time 🥹.

Disney now has lightsticks lol

she was so cute 🙁
my dad got me this before we left 🥹

After getting everything we needed, we hurried over to Tron!! I told my brother that he had to try this ride.

the wait time was NOT giving

We only had a few hours to spend inside Disneyland since we had other plans afterwards and wouldn’t be staying for the fireworks, so my brother got us FastPasses for Tron.

Thank you, brother 🥹.

After the ride and spending some time around Tomorrowland, we decided to have an early lunch and skip the lunchtime crowds.

The ticket I booked included a meal voucher up to a certain amount, and for us, it was definitely worth it.

Our meal voucher was limited to 119 RMB, so we could only choose items priced under 119 RMB or exactly 119 RMB. We couldn’t go over the amount or top it up.

My brother and I got the cheese wagyu burger, while my dad ordered Char Siu and Shrimp Yang Chun Noodles with soy soup. We probably should have gotten the same thing as him since the wagyu burger was dry as heck 🥲.

We walked around the park after that and were supposed to go on another ride, but the wait time was just too long and we only had a few hours left. We wouldn’t have made it if we pushed for another ride, and FastPasses aren’t exactly cheap.

we had fun here!

i grew up with Monsters Inc.

I finally saw Zootopia!!

probably next time 🙁 wait time for this was longer than Tron </3

my brother surprised me and got this headband for me 🥹
saw someone post that this was her favorite and will always get it
it was nothing special .. in my opinion only

my gosh look at all those people!! there weren’t this much people before 🙁

wished we could have stayed longer, but we also wanted to see as many places as we could

since it was my first time heading out early, I was able to visit DisneyTown
but we we only went to 2 stores because we were a bit late already

got some tea before leaving since it was SO HOT
see you next time (hopefully)

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm
