Tang Jai Yoo (What to expect)

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I saw her post a whole suckling pig on her story and had to ask where it was!

It’s located in Bangkok’s Chinatown. We took a cab to get there, but the driver didn’t drop us off at the right spot and told us to walk 😅. The closest metro to this restaurant is Wat Mangkok station!

The station is just 3 minutes away from the restaurant.

My friend told me that this area can get a bit crowded and chaotic at night since a lot of vendors come out, so it’s best to visit around lunchtime.

Tang Jai Yoo looks like this from the outside.

The place was packed, but when we walked in, there was one table waiting for us.

I knew that if we were going to order the whole suckling pig, we had to be complete. The three of us wouldn’t be able to finish it on our own. Aside from the suckling pig, we also ordered the fried rice with crab meat.

we had low expectations but this was SO GOOD

✨ a moment for the skin ✨
they also give you a wrapper, leeks, and the hoisin sauce
after you devour the skin, they’ll have the meet cook in 2nd way
you can choose how you want the meat to be cooked but we followed what the staff recommended (there’s an extra charge with cooking but my dad wasn’t able to take note how much it was)

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

For the price you pay, the whole suckling pig is absolutely worth it. It’s just the right size for a group of four or more. If there are only three of you, it might be a bit tough to finish everything.

Definitely a must-visit if you love suckling pig. This place won’t break the bank.

P.S. They only accept cash. If you didn’t bring enough, there is an ATM right across the restaurant.
