Sapporo: Where to stay (an Airbnb where you can cook and a 10-minute walk to Sapporo Station)

My mom wanted us to experience buying groceries from the supermarket and cooking together in an Airbnb when the whole family is together, which is how we ended up booking this place during our stay in Sapporo.

Link to our airbnb (click me).

I’ll start by saying this place was pretty far from the station. The walk wasn’t bad since the weather was nice, but dragging our luggage from the station to the Airbnb was a real struggle.

The great thing about staying near Sapporo Station is that you only need to take one train from the airport to get there.

My dad didn’t get IC cards for everyone (not sure why), so we had to buy individual train tickets for every trip.

We looked for the North Exit and had to walk quite a distance following Google Maps to get to the Airbnb 😭

I’ll also share how you can get to the station from the Airbnb!

The building looks like this.

There are instructions from the owner on how to get the key from the letterbox or mailbox. You just need to follow them.

This is what our room looked like! It was spacious enough for a family of four, but if we were a tall family, I think it would’ve been a bit hard to move around.

We were able to cook here three times, and it was a good experience overall. The only downside was that there was no exhaust, so we had to open the windows to let the smell out.

The nearest convenience store was a Family Mart, but we had to walk quite a bit to get there

How to go to Sapporo Station from the Airbnb :

when you go out
you’ll face towards your right
and walk straight
once you reach the end, you’ll turn towards the road heading the right

and you’ll walk straight from here until the first corner you’ll see on your left
you’ll turn left here

and you’ll walk straight
follow the road
and walk towards the left
there’s an island in the middle of the road
but you’ll be able to spot the pedestrian, you need to cross this pedestrian
go around this island
and cross the pedestrian
head towards the left side
and just keep on walking straight from here

you’ll pass by the Yodabashi store on your right but keep on walking
when you see the Lawson on your right, you’re a bit near already!
you’ll be able to spot the stairs in front
and that’s when you made it!
there’s a ramp for luggages!

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max

It’s not the most ideal place to stay, but if you’re like us and want the experience of buying groceries and cooking your own meals, this place could be a good option.
