Nijo Market (二条市場) (How to go, what to expect)

My dad really wanted to take us here since he and my mom have good memories from this place.

Google Maps told us to get off at Odori Station, but we decided to exit at Susukino Station instead. As we were walking, we realized Hosuisusukino was actually closer to the market.

How to go to Nijo Market :

1. Get down at Hosuisusukino Station

2. Get out of exit 1

Fairfield by Marriott Sapporo is your landmark to know that you’re near.

if you look to your left, that is where Nijo Market will be

You’ll see all these signs and that’s how you know you made it. While we were walking, my dad showed us the place where he and my mom ate when they visited here.

We eventually ended up at this restaurant for lunch.

We had to register our party number on the screen to get a number before we could go in.

While waiting, we checked out the food display to save time deciding what to order.

Once we were told we could go in, I noticed a lot of autographs on the wall, and I was a bit shocked to see how big the restaurant was.

we sat in this huge table!

Ordering is through the tablet again.

my dad noticed we could upgrade our miso soup to crab soup, so we did—he said it was something we should definitely try

My dad and I got the same thing, while my mom and brother got the same dish too. It was basically the same, but they had the version with uni.

Everything tasted sooo good and so fresh!

If you’re short on time and want quality sushi and crab without breaking the bank, definitely visit this market. But if you have more time, I’d recommend visiting Sankaku Market in Otaru. The food is cheaper there, and the portions are bigger!

Watch my Sapporo travel film here!
