Osaka: Where to stay (Ookini Hotel Dotonbori Apartment)

First travel for 2020! It’s late but belated happy new year, and happy Chinese new year!

The last time we were in Osaka was 2012, so it has been a while since we were back. I’ve checked the rates for the hotel where we stayed before and it was soo expensive 😭.

I took my time finding good hotels in the same area where we stayed before and stumbled upon this gem!

I booked our hotel through Agoda.

Agoda link: Ookini Hotel Dotonbori

We were supposed to use the train to our hotel but unfortunately, our flight got delayed. My dad and I were planning to take the midnight bus, lucky for us Cebu Pacific provided free bus service for everyone. This was the first time we’ve experienced it and we were very thankful.

*ps. if you are thinking about whether you need to buy an ICOCA card to go around Osaka, you don’t. We used our Suica card from our previous trip to Tokyo and it works around Osaka (even in Kyoto and Kobe).

Upon arrival at Kansai International Airport, there’s usually a lot of Nintendo posters or pop-ups.

I apologize for my very pale lips since I wasn’t wearing any make up that day!!

as mentioned, Cebu Pacific provided us with free bus services !

each bus had specific locations where you will be dropped off. We chose Namba as it was closer to our place.

When you book your stay at Ookini Hotels Dotonbori Apartment, you will check-in by yourself. Don’t worry as the company will message you very detailed and specific “HOW TO” days before your trip.

How we went to the airport from our place:

we decided to get this express pass to Kansai airport as this was a cheaper option (comparing it to the price if we followed the one recommended by Google Maps)
IMG_7703
follow the directions to Nankai Line as this is the line that will take you to Kansai airport
IMG_7704
you actually have to arrive at Nankai Namba Station to ride the express train
IMG_7706
when you enter, check the LED board to know what platform to ride
IMG_7711
you’ll arrive at Terminal 1 and 2
IMG_7712
there is a LED board for you to check which Terminal you should be heading towards (Cebu Pacific was assigned to Terminal 1)
