Seoul: Where to stay (Hotel The Designers Cheongnyangni)

I decided to take my parents to South Korea during spring season!! We were so lucky to have chanced upon a full bloom for the cherry blossoms during our stay.

While looking for a place, I noticed that not all Airbnb places are cheap during our stay since little did I know it was a “peak” season so I decided to scroll thru Agoda to search for hotels with good deals and that’s how I discovered Hotel The Designers Cheongnyangni.

Agoda link: Hotel The Designers Cheyongnyangi

My favorite parts about the hotel is that:

1. Close to the subway station and airport bus
2. There is a bread shop/coffee shop across the hotel
3. 5 minute walking distance to a good KBBQ restaurant

It was already midnight when we arrived so there were no aiport bus anymore that can take us directly to Hotel The Designers Cheongnyangni (but airport bus information will be placed below, we took the airport bus on our way home).

I do not recommend flying in Seoul at around midnight because it’s hard to commute to wherever you are staying, but if you cannot avoid it I think it is best to take a cab from the airport to wherever you are staying.

The maximum distance the midnight airport bus will take you is to Seoul Station and the cab drivers were not friendly during that time. I was honestly scared during the cab ride from Seoul Station to our hotel.

Thankfully we arrived at Hotel The Designers Cheongnyangni after around 30 minutes!

Here is what the hotel looks like and the room I chose is Deluxe Family Twin for my parents and I during our stay.

**Regine’s note:

We checked out when we were heading to Busan and when we came back to continue our trip in Seoul, they gave us a smaller room 🙁

I asked them why we were moved to a smaller room and they convinced me all their family rooms are the same size, until I showed them the bathroom photo during our first few days in Seoul! They were kind enough to move us to the same room as above the following day.

This is how the room looks like and your room should not look like this when you’ll be booking the same room as us.

Nearest subway station Cheongnyangni station:
1. Line 1 exit 4
2. Gyeongui-Jungang exit 1

Cheongnyangni station is part of Line 1 and Gyeongui-Jungang Line.

How to go to Cheongnyangni station (Line 1) exit 4 from the hotel.

New Mapogalmaegi (신마포갈매기) – KBBQ place near the hotel

I discovered this restaurant when we came from Myeongdong and we just wanted to eat somewhere nearby the hotel. It’s definitely a good place to get your KBBQ cravings without hurting your wallet.

How to go:
