Yunnan (雲南) Province Photo Blog (part 3: Shangri-la City 香格里拉市)

Shangri-la City was the last leg of our Yunnan (雲南) Province trip. *cue tears*

I was excited to come here since my mom kept on telling me how nice the place is after she watched a movie that showcased this place back when she was a kid.

Shangri-la City is also inhabited by a lot of Tibetans, so as a tourist I was able to get a “glimpse” or “taste” of how Tibet is! (Tibet is part of my bucketlist! I want to visit the place one day!!)

After the road trip from Dali, we finally arrived Shangri-la City!

We went around when we arrived (nothing to do around the area! Felt like the hotel was isolated except for 2 super small stores).

But look what I found HAHA (hello fellow Kpop and Big Bang fans)

We also had a chance to do a Tibetan family visit!!

We toured their home and I felt genuinely happy because I was able to learn more about their culture!! (Glad this was part of our itinerary!!)

he would only smile after you take a photo with him 😭

We also had to buy oxygen cans because Yunnan (esp Shangri-la) has an high altitude and it has less oxygen.

At first I thought maybe it was just a “joke” or “I might not need it because I’m still young” let me tell you, IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT A JOKE.

For the duration of the trip, all of us almost consumed a whole can. So that’s like one can per person.

Like what I did for the part 1 and part 2 our our Yunnan trip, here is where we stayed in Shangri-la City!

The hotel is Tianruiyangguang guang Hotel. The room was CRAZY FINE. I think this was THE BEST hotel we stayed during our trip!! Downside is that you’re isolated in the middle of no where.

There is definitely a lot to do in Yunnan Province but sadly our trip was quite short to fit in three places that we had to cram everything. Hopefully, there will be a chance to come back!

Read about part 1 and part 2 of my Yunnan photo blog!!

I would like to talk about how Golden Chariot Tour and Travel Planner Inc. was super hands on during our whole trip! They also helped everyone during this trip!! (ps. not sponsored huhuhu but hopefully next time??)

They are actually one of the best travel agencies that is based in MNL that I would recommend in case you would want to go to a province in China or actually anywhere in China!! (I know they also have packages for other countries as well if you’d want to book a tour, they also do flight bookings and visa applications). Here is their facebook just in case anyone is interested!  https://www.facebook.com/GoldenChariotTours/
