Mae Varee (How to go, what to expect)

My friend told me about this place after I mentioned how much I’ve been enjoying mango sticky rice. She saw some influencers talking about it. Of course, I’m totally down to try it and keep searching for the best mango sticky rice for me.

Mae Varee is literally beside Thong Lor station. There weren’t any subway stations near where we had lunch, so we had to take a cab to get here. The driver dropped us off at Thong Lor station and told us to walk since it was just at the corner.

The place was busy and packed with people. Everyone was buying, grabbing, and taking photos at the same time.

I got the big set so that my mom and I can share.

There are no tables or chairs for you to sit down since everything is for takeaway. We ended up eating on the side of the road near the store.

Mae Varee is literally behind me lol

I get why people call this the ‘best’ mango sticky rice. So far, they’ve had the best mangoes, but if you’re from the Philippines, you know our mangoes are unbeatable. That’s why I focus more on the sticky rice whenever I try mango sticky rice in Bangkok, and this one was just okay.

Personally, I still prefer the sticky rice from Yenly Yours. The mango sticky rice here isn’t mind‑blowing enough for me to travel all the way just for it, but if you’re already in the area, it’s definitely worth trying.
