Bangi Su-san Jamsil Bangi Branch (방이수산 잠실방이점) (How to go, what to expect)

Something new I learned on this trip is that during winter, locals in Korea usually eat hamachi or bang-eo (방어). I’m glad I learned about it because hamachi is one of my mom’s favorite sashimi.

There were a lot of restaurants offering hamachi or bang-eo, but since we had plans for the day, I tried to find one nearby, and that’s how I stumbled upon this place.

Among all the available options, this restaurant had the highest rating on Naver Maps. We chose to ride the bus because it was the better option for us, even though the subway was also available.

if you’re taking the subway, get down at Jamsil station (line 2, line 8)

If you’re riding the bus like I did, here’s how to get to Bangi Su-san Jamsil Bangi Branch.

you’ll cross the pedestrian you see on your left
and turn towards the right
walk straight
keep on walking until you see the first street on your left
turn towards that street
and keep on walking straight, on the 4th street on your right
this is the view you should be seeing
and this is the restaurant!

Just follow the block towards the restaurant.

We could choose wherever we wanted to sit since it was just us and one other couple at the time. 🤣

no need to worry since there is an English option on the tablet as well
initially ordered salmon sashimi too, but the staff told us the hamachi was enough for two. Ordering the salmon sashimi would have been too much for my mom and me
for free!
they gave us various mix of condiments and toppings which you can add or combine to enjoy the Hamachi in various ways
these are all for free 😭👍🏻
star of the show

we mixed and matched the Hamachi with different condiments and toppings  🩷

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

Safe to say, this was one of my mom’s favorite meals during the trip.
