Dadaepo Grandma’s house (다대포 할매집) (How to go, what to expect)

We were already far out, so I decided to check if there was somewhere near Dadaepo Beach where we could eat, and that is how I discovered this place!

We walked for a bit to get to Grandma’s House, but it was a little hard to find the place!

I was following Naver Maps to get here, and there was no one on the streets. Some areas were also dark, so I almost started doubting myself.

the map says it’s somewhere here but I didn’t see it so I told my mom to stay where she is so I can check
and that’s how I found the place! at the end there were so many bright lights
we made it

I got SO SHOCKED because the place was filled with people like where did everyone come from

We had to take a number to queue for a seat because the restaurant had filled all the tables!

decided to check the menu while waiting!

After waiting for a few minutes, a staff member came up to us and asked if we wanted to sit on the rooftop area so we would not have to wait too long.

We said yes! We were grateful they asked if we were okay with sitting there because it looked like we would have waited a long time just to eat.

You order through the tablet. There is an English version, but the translations are a bit wonky.

I wanted to order more, but my mom couldn’t eat any more, so we stuck with what we had.

The makgeolli here is famous, but we had tried it before and weren’t huge fans, so we opted for beer instead. With the perfect weather for it, we enjoyed a cozy meal of ramen, odeng soup, and of course, beer. Everything just came together perfectly.

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

The seafood pancake was really good! We enjoyed our meal because the weather was perfect and the food fit the vibe. I can see why it was so busy. It’s a great spot to eat, relax, and catch up with friends. The food wasn’t extraordinary, but the combination of good food and location put us in a great mood.

Come here if you’re already going to visit Dadaepo Beach!
