Seoul: Where to stay (Royal Square Hotel)

Before I start this post, I want to thank everyone who reads my blog. I’m excited to share that I was included in Feedspot’s list of Top Female Travel Blogs and Websites for 2025! You can check out the full list here.

Going back to the main reason of this post – where we stayed in Seoul. We had a night flight to Jeju from Gimpo Airport, and I didn’t want to book a hotel that was far away since it was our first time flying from there

We arrived late at night and just needed a place to sleep before heading out the next day. I also looked for a hotel with a subway station on the same line as Gimpo Airport—either Line 5 or Line 9.

I ended up choosing the Royal Square Hotel! The location was perfect, as it was only one station away (Songjeong Station) from Gimpo Airport on Line 5.

There weren’t any subways running when we arrived, so we took a cab to the hotel. But I’ll share the subway exits near the hotel below, since we took the subway when we headed to Gimpo Airport!

When our cab driver dropped us off, I was so confused about where the hotel was because all I saw was this sign.

I looked at my map, and it said I was in the right place. I told my parents to stay where they were while I went to look for the hotel. After a bit of searching, I finally saw some signs and spotted it on my right!

My iPhone couldn’t capture it well, but this sign says ROYAL SQUARE HOTEL SEOUL.

We dragged our luggage across the road towards the entrance!

there’s a twosome place cafe on their lobby!

the room is quite big! I’d want to stay here again too if the place was a bit near to places I want to go to.

I think the only thing lacking here is an area with sockets where you can work. I had a hard time working here since there were no tables near sockets in the room. I think that was the only con of the hotel.

Subway and exit near Royal Square Hotel

1. Songjeong station (line 5)

Exit 4 is the closest to the hotel, but Exit 3—just across from Exit 4—has an elevator, which is super helpful if you have luggage!

Coming out of exit 3 or 4, all you have to do is walk straight until you see this view. Sorry, I’ll got photos from Naver Maps to explain since I didn’t have time to take actual photos!

you’ll just walk straight
just pass by one block
your mark is the Daiso on top of the building, you should NOT go beyond Daiso! You should turn towards the alley on your left BEFORE the Daiso sign

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max

If you have a few hours or days before your flight to Jeju or any flight via Gimpo Airport, I think this hotel is a good option! It was just challenging to find the hotel, but the location is not bad!
