We only had a few hours in Seoul before our flight to Jeju, and we needed a place to have lunch. I didn’t want to go far because I didn’t want to rush my parents.
I gave my parents some options where we could have lunch, and Furato Balsan is what they decided!
How to go to Furato Balsan 후라토식당 발산역점
1. Get down at Balsan Station (line 5)

2. Get out of exit 1

We walked in and got so confused because it looked like this, but I told my parents to trust the process—my map showed we were in the right spot.

I told them we just need to find an elevator or escalator since the address said it was on the second floor.

We got to the restaurant, and I think most of the people eating there were office workers since they were all wearing their IDs.

We went in with low expectations since we’d already tried Gyukatsu Motomura in Japan, but their version of gyukatsu honestly shocked us—it actually compared to Motomura, unlike the other places we’ve tried!

“Their staff were also really attentive—we didn’t even have to raise our hands. They just came over and gave us a new gel for the stone grill so it would stay hot.
Though a bit far from the center, I’d return here whenever I crave good gyukatsu! We didn’t have to wait so long as compared to the ones in Japan.
