Couple photoshoot with Marie Jeju (마리에제주 , @mariejeju_official) – for my parents (What to expect)

My parents never had any formal photos taken—pre-nup shoots weren’t common when they got married.

So, as soon as I booked our trip, I thought it’d be nice to get some professional photos of them with a beautiful nature backdrop.

I wanted their pictures to capture how happy and carefree they are as a couple—something a studio just wouldn’t be able to show.

After some research, I chose Marie Jeju for my parents. There was another company with the same price, but they offered a shorter shoot time.

You can contact Marie Jeju by visiting their page and clicking the Kakao link! Here’s how it went.

After a day, someone else from Marie Jeju contacted me.

I also do or can help with sending payment to Korean bank accounts! Reach out to me via Instagram @starsofheaven

Just a note – not true! The photographer said we’d get the photos a week after the shoot (he actually sent them the next day) but retouching takes about a month!

Less than 3 weeks before our trip, someone reached out to explain what to expect.

A few days before our trip, the photographer was the one who reached out!

He first sent me a Google Maps link, but I asked for the Naver Maps version instead!

Shoot day! We met up with the photographer, and he explained everything in English (I thought we’d be using Papago again). Then we just followed his car to the shoot location.

It’s super important to have a car if you want to do a lot in Jeju
first location was this forest!
he was very patient with telling my parents how to pose
second location was this field, which was just beside the forest!

We still had an hour left after shooting at the two locations, so the photographer asked if we wanted to keep shooting there or move somewhere new. I said let’s go somewhere new, and he took us to a spot with Jeju stones—I just followed him.

Our options were limited though because it was SO foggy that morning!

We finally got to the third location! The photographer was still super patient with my parents and even guided them through some poses.

Oh, I forgot to mention—the photographer was kind enough to include me in some of the photos! I asked if it was okay to shoot three people since I only paid for two, and he said yes 😭.

After my parents wrapped up their shoot, I had my own little photoshoot taken by my dad on the road LOL.

my favorite! dad slayed

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

A day after the shoot, I got an email with ALL the photos—over a thousand shots!

we had a hard time choosing 10 photos because everything was good

Sharing some unedited photos here! There are even better ones in the collection, but we’re keeping those for ourselves 🥹.

Thank you to photographer Gun Wook Lee for taking such amazing photos of my parents—and for giving us a beautiful family photo too. Just wish my brother could’ve joined us on this trip!
