Eunpyeong Hanok Village in 북한산 : Long Bread Sandwich Cafe (롱브레드 은평한옥마을점) (How to go, what to expect)

This was not planned. Initially, I wanted to take my parents (specifically my dad) to Cafe 1in1jan (1인1상) since I’ve been seeing photos and videos of the place. I thought it would be the perfect way to start the day for his birthday!

Unfortunately, my mistake was NOT researching if they had days where it’s closed. I simply wanted to take my parents there and it so happened that the store was closed on that day.

At least we now have a reason to go back one day!

How to go to Long Bread Sandwich Cafe (롱브레드) or Cafe 1in1jan (1인1상) [they are just beside each other]

Coming from our hotel, we were told to take the subway + bus!

Option A : If you’re also riding the bus from Seodaemun Station here is how everything looked like!

Coming out of Seodaemun Station :

follow signs that says exit 6

as soon as you get out, head towards the left
and walk straight
keep on walking until you see a pedestrian on your right
you’ll cross the pedestrian
this is where you will be going to ride the bus!
cross the street until

you arrive at the bus stop on your left
bus 701

You’ll get off at Hana high school, Samcheonsa, Jingwansa stop!

Option B : Get down at Yeonsinnae Station and get out of exit 3. Then ride bus 701, the stop is still the same as the one above (get off at Hana high school, Samcheonsa, Jingwansa stop)

Once you reach Hana high school, Samcheonsa, Jingwansa stop this is what you’ll see

you’ll immediately see this! this is the entrance to the Eunpyeong Hanok Village
you’ll face the road towards your right and you’ll walk straight
you’ll eventually see this big gray building! that is the Cafe 1in1jan (1인1상)

I was so shocked why was everything so dark.. finally saw it was closed on a Monday

Thankfully there was a cafe beside it, it did not offer the same majestic view but it still had the hanok villages and the mountains!

Coming from 1인1상 :

having Cafe 1in1jan (1인1상) on your right, you’ll walk straight a bit until
*disclaimer : screenshot is from Naver*
you’ll see a street immediately on your right
*disclaimer : screenshot is from Naver*
you’ll be able to spot the sign coffee + brunch on your right, and that’s where you’re headed!

I think there was a show that was shot here!

It seems like the owners or staff are used to having foreigners dine at their cafe as they talked to us in English immediately.

I love how they encourage you to find a space first BEFORE ordering.

we sat here! it felt cozy
appreciate the English menu!

We got the Eggs Benedict and Ham Cheese Basil panini to share and coffee for us three.

It wasn’t our first choice but at least there was an alternative cafe! The view was still great, we just had to adjust how we ate to get the view 😆.

Don’t forget to bring your tray and empty glasses on the first floor before leaving!

After having our meal at the cafe, we went around Eunpyeong Hanok Village. It was peaceful and there was no one around. I think the place is not yet finished since we saw some building and renovations happening. This made me excited to come back one day!

there are some area where it’s still not finished
under construction 🚧

all photos were taken using an iPhone 13 Pro Max / Fujifilm X-T20 18-55 mm

If you have extra time during your trip, I would highly recommend this place! If you really want to visit Cafe 1in1jan (1인1상) make sure to not go on a Monday! Don’t make the same mistake as me 😆.
