Hong Kong: Where to stay (Grand View Hotel)

Whenever we are in Hong Kong, we would usually book our hotel at City Garden Hotel (just in case my aunt’s place is unavailable to borrow). Unfortunately for this trip, my father and I noticed that when we were browsing thru websites to book a place here, the prices were crazy (compared to the previous years we book with the same dates).

We did some research on what hotel was close to City Garden since we prefer to stay at  Fortress Hill area – that’s how we ended up booking our stay at Grand View Hotel.

*Tip: try looking over at Trivago to find the best third party website to book a room here (we got ours thru Booking.com) because there are differences in price depending on the website you will book.

Pros about the room: hot water, WIFI, towel change everyday, comfy bed, big space, free shampoo/conditioner/tea bags

Cons about the room: NONE!

Pros about the location: there are a lot of supermarkets nearby (my favorite is Wellcome), the bus stop and tram is just near the hotel (if you choose these two modes of transportation)

Cons about the location: it’s just a tad bit smelly once you get out of the hotel (WHICH WE COULDN’T CARE LESS) since there are people selling various things outside and the walk to the closest MTR station is around 5 minutes (if you choose to ride the train)

How to go to Grand View Hotel from airport:
Ride the A11 bus. You will get down at the second to the last stop – South China Hotel  (stop #20)

Closest MTR station and exit: North Point station A2 exit (based on their website)
Closest MTR station and exit: Fortress Hill station B exit (based on Regine C.)
(Around 5 minute walk from the hotel; sorry wasn’t able to include directions to the closest station since we took the bus / tram during our trip. I’ll try to add the directions on this post if we decided to book here again!)
